How to use the Deactivation feature for users.

New users are created in the Veonics Portal. Some users never log in, and others stop for various reasons. Users can be filtered by Last Login and Date Created for mass inactivation.

This feature applies to all users in the lookup. However, you must narrow your filter to exclude those who should not be deactivated.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING SPECIAL USER ACCOUNTS

Regarding VCDB User accounts (API or SFTP), please remember that the last login date is not updated daily or when the schedule is run. Therefore, when naming a User for this purpose, please start the Username with API or update the Last name to API when applicable. It is recommended to never login to the Portal with this User, as it makes the Deactivation feature hard to filter. Worst cast, note the API users in the filtered lookup, and reactivate after mass deactivation.

Inactivating a Single User

To deactivate a single user, you can filter the User list to display only that user. Using the user -name for filtering is recommended, but if that is not possible, you can filter by last name followed by first name to narrow down the list to the specific user that needs to be deactivated.

Inactivating Groups of Users

Filtering Users For Mass Deactivation

Using the "Last Login" Column

By entering a date YYYY-MM-DD or selecting a day from the calendar select popup, it shows a list of users that last logged in BEFORE the entered date.

Once you have confirmed all users on the filter are valid to be deactivated, select the "Deactivate" button next to the "New" and "View" buttons, and it will deactivate all users returned in the filtered list.  All Users are now in an Inactive state.  They can be reactivated if needed.

You can use the "Date Created" column to refine the filter list further.

If you don't want to deactivate all users in the "Last Login" filter, you can apply the same "before date" filter in the "Date Created" column. Once you have applied the filter, you can sort the column by clicking the mini-up arrow. If you click it again, the order of the column will be reversed.

The "null" Feature

Type "null" in the Last Login or Date Created columns to display users who have never logged in. You can also sort by Date Created before deactivating. Note that "null" is case-sensitive.
