Veonics® Portal Users are created to access and manage various assigned software permissions and notifications. There is no need for badge recipients to have User rights since they will never log in.
Table of Contents
In the User section of the Veonics Portal, authorized users can Create (New) and Manage (View) users that require access.
Creating a New User
Select the New button within the User tab when user rights are assigned.
- Once in the New User General Tab, complete the form as directed.
- A Username can be manually entered or by selecting the Generate button once the First Name and Last Name have been entered. The first initial and last name will be joined together and used as the Username (flast.) If the username is not unique, a unique value will be appended. (flast1, flast2...)
- DO NOT create one common login to share or share yours. You would be breaking the cyber security policies of eXpress badging and, most certainly, your organization's.
- Enter the user's email. Otherwise, the password reset feature will not work.
- It is recommended to assign an Account Expiration date from 90 days to 365. Otherwise, all users that need to be inactivated must be done manually.
- Assign the Organization based on the hierarchical access of the user. ABC Corp for all access, ABC Orlando for Orlando only, ABC Cocoa Beach for Cocoa Beach only, and ABC Tampa for Tampa only. Multiple Organizations can be assigned if applicable. If all locations are needed for select users, select the parent Organization.
Save
Once completed, select the Save button, which will automatically send the User an email with instructions to log in and reset the automatically assigned password.
Copy Permissions
One simple way to create a new user is to select the Copy Permissions button, locate a User with the same rights the new user will be using, select OK and edit the User as needed above.
Editing an Existing User
Once a User is created, it can be edited by highlighting the User in the list, then selecting View.
The number one edit will be to Reset the Password. This will automatically send a Reset Password notification via email, prompting the user to log in with a temporary password and reset their password. They can reset the password themself if their account has not been inactivated.
Roles and Permissions
Roles and Permissions should only be used by trained and authorized Users. In most cases, eXpress badging will manage the initial Role assignments for all customers. There are over 325 Permissions that can be assigned within the Veonics Portal. Roles are a set of Permissions for easy assignment. There are currently 14 roles that have different permissions attached to them.
